HULL SCHOOL DEMOLITION UPDATE - Aug. 9

Post date: Aug 9, 2010 3:51:32 PM

For the past three weeks Able Demolition has been doing preparation work for the final demolition of Hull School.  A protective fence was erected around the site.  They have been working on the interior of the school removing all of the old style floor tile containing asbestos fibers for proper disposal, removing light fixturing and tubes, and the glass windows.  There may be another week of interior demolition before the final knockdown of the brick walls and roof starts.  The trucks hauling away the debris will travel away from the site through our subs along Lyndon out to Levan.

The Hull Huskies sign has been removed from the site by LPS and put into storage.  We are hoping that an arrangement can be made to return the sign to the site after everything has been leveled and cleaned up.  Part of the parking lot will be saved for use by residents using the play field.  All of the existing playground equipment, picnic tables and benches will be retained.

Pictures of the demolition steps are being taken and will be posted on the website later.
